Ever since I was a child I’ve dreamed about exploring the stars. I’ve longed to jump on a ship, journey across the dark expanse, and view the wonder of the cosmos with my own eyes. Unsurprisingly, I’ve been a fan of science fiction for as long as I can remember. Whether it’s watching Luke Skywalker pilot an X-Wing fighter, reading about the hijinks of the crew in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, or playing every video game set in space that I can get my hands on, I’ve always had a deep desire for exploring the vast reaches of the celestial beyond. I’m not even sure how to properly put it into words. I’ve just had a burning desire in my soul to know what’s out there. Sadly, I’m not smart enough to be an astronaut, and I fear I’ll never be rich enough to afford a spot on any hypothetical commercial vessel, so I’ve had to make peace with the fact that I’ll probably never get the answers I’m searching for. However, while nothing will be a true replacement for my dreams, Starfield is the closest I’ve ever come to actually feeling like an explorer on my own interstellar adventure.
