Guerrilla Collective Publisher Spotlight – Tiny Build (Recap)

Closing out the Guerrilla Collective’s Publisher Spotlight show was Tiny Build, giving us a look at 11 of their upcoming games and updates. Below you’ll find each game shown as well as links to all of the trailers. If you missed the first two parts of the Publisher Spotlight, you can find a recap of everything coming from Freedom Games here, as well as a look at what Hype Train Digital has in store here. Now, let’s see what Tiny Build has coming up.

Cartel Tycoon – San Rafaela DLC

If you’ve ever wanted to see how successful you could be with running your own cartel, then Cartel Tycoon is the perfect way for you to live out your curiosity without winding up in a jail cell. While the base game of Cartel Tycoon has been available since last summer, this upcoming DLC allows you to conquer a new region and adds new characters and an additional story campaign to boot. This was only a brief tease of what’s to come, so make sure you Wishlist this DLC on Steam to stay in the loop and receive future updates.

Punch Club 2: Fast Forward
Full trailer here: https://youtu.be/u2PKKy-2kgo

What if you could become a strong fighter not by putting in the time to build your muscles, but by connecting to machines to quickly enhance your mind and body? Well, that’s exactly what you do in Punch Club 2, a tongue-in-cheek pixel art fighting management simulator. The trailer is brief, but it does a good job of setting up the off-kilter tone of the game, and while no release date means we’ll have to wait a while for more details, a demo for the game is now available on Steam.

I Am Future
Full trailer here: https://youtu.be/s63_fRY4tOg

Prepare to sing along with the trailer for I Am Future, an upcoming post-apocalyptic survival game where you play a guy with major dad vibes trying to eke out a living across the rooftops of an abandoned city. It’s incredibly jolly and wholesome and while the game itself doesn’t launch until August 8, there’s a free demo available on Steam. In the meantime, feel free to keep this trailer on repeat in the background. This song is super catchy.

Slime 3K: Rise Against Despot

If you’ve played the mega-hit Vampire Survivors, then you have a pretty good idea of what to expect with Slime 3K. You play as a blob of green slime that slowly gets more and more powerful while equipping random skills and weapons during your encounters with waves of enemies. The main difference is that Slime 3K seems to be a much slower-paced experience, although it’s highly possible you can upgrade your speed later. There’s no release date set at the moment, so make sure to Wishlist it on Steam if you want to receive updates.

Black Skylands
Full trailer here: https://youtu.be/UYKMMD_XFds

Launching on PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox on August 3, Black Skylands is a deep air/land combat game with tons of customization. You’re a pilot of a giant airship that you can fully customize and tailor to your heart’s content, but you can also land on floating islands in the sky, exit your ship, and search for upgrade materials. Whether by air or land, you’ll always have scores of enemies to take out, and a wide arsenal of firearms with dozens of attachments promises a rich and rewarding experience. If you can’t wait for its release, then there’s a free demo currently available on Steam.

Hello Neighbor VR: Search & Rescue
Full trailer here: https://youtu.be/XxakTvbntmk

This multiplayer VR game is set in the popular Hello Neighbor franchise and sees you and up to three friends trying to uncover the dark secrets locked inside the house of your mysterious neighbor. There’s a large emphasis on teamwork and using walkie-talkies to communicate and navigate through the house, and the dangerous personality of the neighbor means you and your friends will need to be at the top of your game to get through unscathed. Hello Neighbor VR: Search & Rescue is available now for PSVR 2, Steam VR, and Meta Quest.

Farworld Pioneers

I actually couldn’t find the trailer from this show uploaded separately on YouTube, so I’ve provided the announcement trailer instead. Farworld Pioneers is a colony-building space game that can be played either solo or with friends. It’s the type of game that just by the genre you should know whether or not you’re in, but the attached trailer shows a TON of gameplay if you need a little more information. It’s also available now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S with a PS4/PS5 launch coming on June 14.

SpiderHeck
Full trailer here: https://youtu.be/jz0-S76_gwY

SpiderHeck is all about crazy spider combat where you use weapons to massacre each other while also shooting your web to swing around the stage. This long update video goes over all of the previous updates since its launch last year before diving into what changes are coming next. While you can watch the whole video for all of the nitty-gritty details, the most significant updates are a map editor, dedicated servers, and crossplay. SpiderHeck is available on PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox.

Hello Engineer
Full trailer here: https://youtu.be/dUvS9Kx42io

I don’t really know what to say about this one. It’s a vehicle-building game set in the Hello Neighbor universe, but it doesn’t seem like it has any narrative component connecting it to the series. The visuals look nice, but it’s not clear if you’re making these vehicles to race or go through obstacle courses. Hello Engineer launches on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox later this summer, with a demo available now on Steam.

The Book Walker: Thief of Tales

The trailer does a bad job of explaining what the game is, but according to the video description, The Book Walker is a narrative adventure game where you play as a writer-turned-thief who gains the ability to travel into books and explore their worlds. It’s an interesting premise that I’d love to know more about, and thanks to a newly released demo on Steam I just might have to check it out. The Book Walker will be launching on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, although a release date has yet to be set.

Ferocious
Full “trailer” here: https://youtu.be/-8q28Hm8cx0

This 9-second clip shows a jungle with a dinosaur that quickly runs by… and that’s it. A full trailer is set to drop on June 11, but it’s hard to be excited when the teaser is basically nothing.

FINAL VERDICT

Tiny Build closes out the Guerrilla Collective Publisher Spotlight with… a whimper? Don’t get me wrong, there were a few cool little games shown here, but it was also weird to have trailers for games that have already been released, and even weirder to end with a teaser that’s the most “blink and you’ll miss it” thing to arguably ever be in a video game showcase. I didn’t hate the show, but it didn’t feel that exciting.
